Boston. Little, Brown & Co. 1980. First American Edition. Hardcover in black quarter cloth & red paper-wrap Near fine in good only dust jacket. Text is clean in solid binding. Light foxing just starting to top & fore edges. Jacket edge rubbed with large tear to top left corner of front panel. Jeremy Thorpe, Liberal Party leader in Parliament, was acquitted in a sensational 1979 trial for murder. Waugh's eyewitness account of the trial provides much food for thought along with humor & farce. Auberon Waugh is the son of the novelist Evelyn Waugh.
