Former owner's signature on half title page. Adventure novel set in Scotland and the first featuring series character Dickson McGunn.

Crack at title page. Toning to rear gutter. Text bright with no interior markings. Published posthumously. Set in Canada & featuring the last adventure of series character Edward Leithen. Published in England by Hodder as "Sick Heart River."

Crack at first blank with no loosening. Boards rubbed & soiled with fading to spine. Light soil to edges. The list of Buchan books published by Hodder facing the title page lists John Macnab but not The Dancing Floor so probably published in 1926. A Haycraft-Queen Cornerstone title. Thriller is the first to feature series character Richard Hannay. Basis for the great 1935 Hitchcock film.
